From 10th to 14th December 2018, we held 10th PFS collaboration meeting at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.
Usually, individual groups for developing instruments and designing observational survey have discussions via regular video/phone meetings and sometimes by visiting each other. This meeting, on the other hand, is the biggest for the whole collaboration to gather up for discussions. About 80 members over the world took part in this meeting.
In the meeting week, we had a variety of breakout sessions where individual groups discussed their progress, issues and future plans, and 2-day joint session where the whole collaboration shared the discussion items. In joint session, the Principal Investigator Hitoshi Murayama (Kavli IPMU/UC Berkeley) reported the latest situation of the Project, followed by various reports of the individual groups. The instrument teams reported the development status, while science teams reported the progress of the survey designs.
In 2018, Metrology Camera System were shipped to Subaru Telescope, and the other instruments went into the production and integration phase. Seeing these progress, we also had discussions from the viewpoints of actual operations and observations.
