PFS presentations at IAU meeting

For five days from July 3 to 7, the IAU (International Astronomical Union) Asia-Pacific regional meeting was held in Taipei, where the project manager Dr. Naoyuki Tamura (Kavli IPMU, project associate professor) gave a talk and introduced the current status of the PFS project, the instrument under development, and large-sky survey program under planning. Also, there was a poster presentation from ASIAA (Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics) about their development of PFS Metrology Camera System.

While there were many participants from those areas committing not only to observational facilities in operation such as Subaru, ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter Array), and CFHT (Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope) but also to future big projects such as TMT (Thirty Meter Telescope) and GMT (Giant Magellan Telescope), it was a good opportunity for us to realize strong interests on the PFS instrument on Subaru Telescope.
